Running vs Training

May 28, 2012

Sometimes the weather is lovely; I have some extra (or enough) energy, and I feel like going out and enjoying being outside, getting my heart rate up, feeling my muscles actively engaged, my mind given into deep thought.

Sometimes I’ve had an impossibly exhausting week, culminating in a colleague’s memorial service; I’m drained, weary, cold, and it’s just started drizzling.  I want to be talking with people, embraced by people, and reposed on the nearest soft furnishing.

The difference between running and training is that no matter which day I’m having…

I run.
